These relationships serve as a reminder of the importance of love and the act of giving and receiving it..

I know from firsthand experience that it’s easy to forget who we are and what we have to share with the world.

When we are empowered to be who we are, we can see ourselves more fully and share ourselves more joyfully.

Why is this important?

When we accept and respect ourselves, we are more able to accept and respect others. When we accept and respect others, we can change the world to the peaceful and loving place we all want it to be.

We are living in unprecedented times. We are facing challenges most of us are not prepared for and they are growing exponentially.

I believe deeply that we are a loving humanity at our core.

We all want the same thing when you get right down to it… acceptance, attention, affection, and appreciation.

When we work together, we can create a more sustainable, equitable, and peaceful world.

We teach what we most need to learn. Most of my life I was sure everyone had something I didn’t and I was just not “cool”. Yet, there was a voice coming from deep inside me that begged me to keep searching for a way to find my place in the world.

I spent my entire life trying to be enough for each person and situation I encountered, until I finally realized that this life is my one chance to be me.

When, if not now, was I going to step into being myself? After all, I was teaching others through writing and illustrating Verbal Remedies.

Fun fact

The VerbalRemedies.com tagline has been “Be who you…it is so much more than enough” since websites were a thing in the 90’s.

I became an insatiable follower of the teachings of Marianne Williamson, Deepak Chopra, Wayne Dyer and many more whose voices I felt were speaking directly to me. I also divorced after a couple decades of marriage to a man who helped me grow up in so many ways but couldn’t help me spiritually and emotionally. I needed to do that on my own.

Living in Asheville gave me a plethora of healing modalities to explore. I became a yoga teacher which gave me a deeper understanding of myself and a deeper connection to what I have called God, Source, the Universe, ultimately settling on my own term, the “God Soup” which illustrates that everything is connected. Years of studying, years of learning, years of teaching (as I said) what I most needed to learn.

Then the pandemic happened and life as I thought I knew it to be changed abruptly. No longer traveling for my work, I was at home consistently for the first time in many years. I began to meditate regularly with the Chopra app, which led me to enroll in the Chopra Center coaching program.

To become a Chopra coach you have to first study and become certified to teach Ayurveda and meditation. It’s a brilliant program because because it gives you what you need to put a foundation under you. For me it brought all my learning and personal work together.

By the time I passed my coaching exam I felt whole…like the circle in Shel Silverstein’s “The Missing Piece Meets the Big O”.

No longer rolling around in life trying on other people and other things, I find my acceptance, attention, affection, and appreciation within first, before seeking it outside myself.

Are you ready to step out of your comfort zone and be YOU? Your journey to wholeness awaits!

Much peace and love to you…
